I'm on work experience from school tomorrow, and one of my dad's friends is driving me home which is a half an hour drive.
The thing is i find it really difficult to start a conversation with someone who has such different interests and who I have never gotten to know before.
Any suggestionsconversation starters for conversation starters/advice?

Well, if his interests are so different, then ask him about one and maybe he will explain why he's interested in such a thing. By giving him a chance to talk about something he enjoys...you pretty much open up the doors to listen, which cuts out on yoconversation startersur part of the talking.
