free ipad scamI received an email today from Laura Hamilton, she says that yahoo is giving me a free ipad, scam? Y or N?

In the letter it says that Laura Hamilton is the VP of Yahoo and that Yahoo has teamed up with Apple and is giving the Ipad2 to randomly selected emails and that I am one of them. It is a one day promotion. Is this a scam? If so, I would like to email a copy to whomever can trace it to catch these trouble makers.

Yahoo NEVER gives away any prizes for any reason. They are spamming everyone - I've received that same email at least 3 times in the past week all from different names. None of which are a VP at Yahoo

If Yahoo had any sort of giveaway, it would be listed on Yahoo's home page

When an E-mail offer sounds too good to be true, Doreen, then it is definitely not true.
It is a scam to get your personal information and/or your money, or both!
Do not respond to it.
Report it, forward it to the FTC at spam@uce.gov and to the abuse desk of the sender's ISP.

Choose Fraud as the reason for the violation you're reporting on.
Also, if the E-mail appears to be impersonating a bank or other company or organization, forward the message to the actual organization.
